Chia pudding

Ingredients

  • Chia seeds: 4 tbsp
  • Milk (or plant-based milk): 1 cup (250 ml)
  • Sweetener of choice (honey, maple syrup, or stevia): 1-2 tsp (optional)
  • Vanilla extract: ½ tsp (optional)

Toppings (Optional):

  • Fresh fruits: 1/4 cup
  • Nuts and seeds: 1 tsp
  • Shredded coconut: 1 tsp
  • Dark chocolate: 1 tsp

Preparation

In a mixing bowl or jar, combine chia seeds, milk, sweetener, and vanilla extract.

Stir well to ensure the chia seeds are evenly distributed.

Cover the bowl or jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. Stir once after the first 10 minutes to prevent clumping.

Once set, the chia seeds will absorb the liquid, creating a thick, pudding-like consistency. Stir to ensure a smooth texture.

Transfer to serving bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings like fresh fruits, nuts, or seeds.

Notes

  • Use almond milk, coconut milk, or oat milk for a vegan option.
  • If the pudding feels too thick, add a little more milk and mix well.
  • Blend a handful of fresh or frozen berries with the milk before mixing with chia seeds for a fruity twist.
