Ingredients:
- 1 cup Whole Moong Dal (Green Gram Dal)
- 3/4 inch piece Ginger
- 2 Green Chilies
- 5 Shallots (Cheriya Ulli/Button Onion)
- 1/2 tsp Jeera (Cumin Seeds)
- 1/2 tsp Methi Seeds (Fenugreek Seeds)
- 1 sprig Curry Leaves
- 1/4 tsp Hing (Asafoetida)
- 3/4 cup Water
- 1/2 tsp Pink Himalayan Salt
- Ghee (for cooking, 1/4 – 1/2 tsp for each dosa)
Instructions:
Soak and Grind: Soak the whole moong dal and methi seeds overnight. Drain and blend with ginger, green chilies, shallots, jeera, curry leaves, hing, and water to form a smooth batter.
Prepare the Batter: Add salt to the batter and mix well.
Cook the Dosa: Heat a tawa or griddle, lightly grease with ghee. Pour a ladleful of batter and spread it in a circular motion to form a thin dosa. Cook until the edges start to lift, then flip and cook the other side until golden brown.
Serving Size: Makes about 6-8 dosas
