Radish Dry Stir Fry (Mooli Sabzi)

Ingredients

  • Radish (mooli), peeled & chopped: 2 cups
  • Radish leaves (optional, finely chopped): ½ cup
  • Mustard seeds: ½ teaspoon
  • Cumin seeds: ½ teaspoon
  • Green chili (chopped, adjust to taste): 1
  • Garlic (chopped or minced): 2 cloves
  • Turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
  • Red chili powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Coriander powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Salt: to taste
  • Oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Lemon juice: 1 teaspoon
  • Coriander leaves (chopped, for garnish): 2 tablespoons

Preparation

Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.

Add chopped garlic and green chili. Sauté for a few seconds.

Add chopped radish and stir well.

Sprinkle turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.

Cover and cook on a low flame for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Once radish is slightly soft, add radish leaves and cook for another 3-4 minutes.

Turn off the heat, squeeze lemon juice, and garnish with coriander leaves.

Enjoy with roti, dal-rice, or as a side dish.

Servings: 2-3

Notes

  1. Radish is rich in fiber, vitamin C, and antioxidants, making this dish a great detox food.
  2. Add sesame seeds for extra crunch or a pinch of garam masala for enhanced flavor.
