Ingredients
- Eggs: 4
- Water: Enough to submerge the eggs
- Salt: ½ tsp (optional)
- Ice cubes: For cooling
Preparation
Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover them with water.
Add salt (optional, helps prevent cracking).
Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Once boiling, reduce to low heat and simmer based on desired doneness:
Soft-boiled: 6-7 minutes
Medium-boiled: 8-9 minutes
Hard-boiled: 10-12 minutes
Transfer the eggs to a bowl of ice water for 5 minutes to stop cooking.
Gently tap the shells and peel under running water.
