Choco oats balls

Ingredients

  • Rolled oats: 1 cup (dry roasted and ground into a coarse powder)
  • Natural peanut butter (unsweetened): 3 tbsp
  • Cocoa powder (unsweetened): 2 tbsp
  • Dates (pitted): ½ cup (soaked in warm water and blended into a paste)
  • Chia seeds or flaxseeds: 1 tbsp
  • Milk (low-fat or plant-based): 2-3 tbsp (as needed)
  • Vanilla extract: ½ tsp (optional)
  • Crushed almonds or walnuts: 2 tbsp (optional)

Preparation

In a bowl, mix oats powder, cocoa powder, and chia seeds.

Add the date paste, natural peanut butter, and vanilla extract. Mix well until combined.

Gradually add milk, 1 tablespoon at a time, to bind the mixture into a dough-like consistency.

If using, fold in crushed almonds or walnuts for added crunch.

Roll the mixture into bite-sized balls.

Chill the balls in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes to set.

Servings: Makes about 10-12 balls

Notes

  • These balls are naturally sweetened with dates, making them a healthier option.
  • Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for longer shelf life.
  • You can substitute peanut butter with almond butter or tahini for a different flavor.
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for a warm, aromatic twist.
