Egg Besan Chilla

Ingredients

  • Besan (gram flour): ¼ cup
  • Eggs: 1
  • Onion (finely chopped): 2 tbsp
  • Tomato (finely chopped): 2 tbsp
  • Green chili (finely chopped): 1 (optional)
  • Coriander leaves (chopped): 1 tbsp
  • Cumin seeds: ½ tsp
  • Turmeric powder: ¼ tsp
  • Black pepper powder: ½ tsp
  • Salt: To taste
  • Water: As needed (for batter consistency)
  • Olive oil/ghee: 1 tsp

Preparation

In a bowl, whisk the egg well.

Add besan, onion, tomato, green chili, coriander, cumin seeds, turmeric, black pepper, and salt.

Gradually add water to make a smooth, pourable batter.

Heat a non-stick pan and lightly grease it with oil or ghee.

Pour a ladle of batter and spread it evenly.

Cook on low-medium heat for 2-3 minutes until the bottom turns golden brown.

Flip carefully and cook for another 2 minutes.

Serve hot with green chutney or yogurt for a healthy meal.

Notes

  1. Add grated carrots, spinach, or capsicum for extra fiber and vitamins.
  2. Use sprouted besan for better digestibility.
  3. Pair with avocado or a side of fresh salad for a balanced meal.
