Ingredients:
For Jowar Roti:
- Jowar flour (sorghum flour): 1 cup
- Warm water: as needed
- Salt: a pinch
For Filling:
- Mixed vegetables (carrot, cucumber, bell peppers, lettuce): 1 cup, thinly sliced
- Grilled tofu or paneer: ½ cup, cut into strips (optional)
- Chat masala: ½ teaspoon
- Black pepper: to taste
- Hummus- 2tbsp
Preparation
In a bowl, mix jowar flour with a pinch of salt.
Gradually add warm water and knead to form a soft dough.
Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
Cook on a hot skillet for 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly golden.
Spread 1-2 spoons of hummus evenly over a jowar roti.
Layer with mixed vegetables and grilled tofu/paneer strips (if using).
Sprinkle chat masala and black pepper over the filling.
Roll the roti tightly to form a wrap.
Serve immediately as a healthy, protein-packed snack or light meal.
Serving Size: Makes 3 wraps
Notes
- You can substitute jowar roti with whole wheat or millet rotis if preferred.
- Add a drizzle of mint chutney or yogurt for extra flavor.
- Leftover wraps can be stored in an airtight container for up to 1 day in the refrigerator.
