Ingredients:
- 2 cups maize flour (makki atta)
- 1/4 cup hot water (as needed to knead dough)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
- 1 tsp oil for dough
- Olive oil spray (for cooking)
Instructions:
Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, combine maize flour, salt, carom seeds, and 1 tsp oil. Gradually add hot water and knead to form a soft dough. Cover and let it rest for 10 minutes.
Shape the Rotis: Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Place a ball between two sheets of plastic wrap or parchment paper and gently press Or roll into a circle about 6-7 inches in diameter.
Cook the Rotis: Heat a tawa (griddle) over medium heat. Carefully place the roti on the hot tawa. Cook one side until you see bubbles forming, then flip it.
Spray lightly with olive oil and cook until golden brown spots appear.
Flip again, spray with olive oil, and cook until both sides are well cooked.
Serving Size: Serves 4-6
