Ingredients
- Raw banana (green, unripe): 2 medium
- Mustard seeds: ½ teaspoon
- Cumin seeds: ½ teaspoon
- Curry leaves: 6-8
- Green chili: 1 (slit)
- Turmeric powder: ¼ teaspoon
- Red chili powder: ½ teaspoon
- Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
- Garam masala: ½ teaspoon
- Salt: to taste
- Oil: 1 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaves: for garnish
Preparation
Peel the raw bananas and cut them into medium-sized cubes.
Boil or steam the banana pieces for 5-7 minutes until slightly soft but not mushy. Drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a pan.
Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, letting them splutter.
Add curry leaves and green chili. Sauté for a few seconds.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and coriander powder. Stir well.
Add the cooked banana cubes to the pan. Mix gently to coat with spices.
Add salt and garam masala. Stir and cook for 3-4 minutes on low flame, ensuring the spices are well absorbed.
Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
