Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup yellow moong dal (40 g)
- 1/4 cup brown rice (30 g)
- 1 cup water (200 ml approx.)
- 1 tsp cooking olive oil
- 1 small onion (chopped)
- 50 g each of any 3-4 mix vegetables (e.g., tomato, carrot, green peas, French beans)
- 1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
- 1 green chili (finely chopped)
- 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/2 tsp salt (or as per taste)
- A pinch of turmeric powder
- 3-4 coriander leaves (freshly chopped)
Instructions:
Prepare Ingredients:Wash and soak the yellow moong dal and brown rice together for about 30 minutes.
Drain the water.
Cook in Pressure Cooker:
Heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker.
Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
Add ginger garlic paste and green chili, sauté for a minute.
Add Vegetables: Add the mix vegetables (tomato, carrot, green peas, French beans) and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.
Add Rice and Dal:Add the soaked moong dal and brown rice to the cooker. Stir well.Add 1 cup water, salt, and a pinch of turmeric powder. Mix well.
Pressure Cook:Close the lid and cook on medium flame for 3-4 whistles.
Let the pressure release naturally.
Garnish and Serve:
Open the lid and give a gentle stir.
Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves.
